First Finished Set

I just finished my first set of dishcloth/scrubbie combo and I love love love the end result.  One ball of cotton yarn made 2 scurbbies and one dishcloth.  I am giving these to my boyfriend, he is my product tester lol.  He is actually very excited to start to use these and I can't wait to see if they actually hold up.
I used an H hook for the dishcloth and an I hook for the scrubbies.
It took the whole ball of yarn for these 3

So now I have used to 2 full balls of yarn and have about 5 to go!  I am about to try a new dishcloth pattern for a diagonal dish/wash cloth.  Soon, I will be able to post about something other than dishcloths! haha

I can't wait to do the set for my mom using the green, yellow and white yarn I have been saving for her, she will love them!

Okay, I'm off to finish up these dishcloths!

Dishcloths and Scrubbies!

So, I was able to finally get some time and start up my crocheting again.  I figured I would start with some small projects and use up some yarn too....so I made some dishcloths and scrubbies with my over abundance of cotton yarn lol

I found a simple pattern for the washcloth on this blog and they turned out really nice.  I absolutely love the ribbed look.  Next, I made some scrubbies out of some ombre yarn I had from sugar and cream.  They turned out better than I thought I would be able to do lol.

I got the pattern for the scrubbies off of raverly.

I still have many more dishcloths and scrubbies to make, I'm thinking Christmas presents? lol

My next project when I get bored of making these is coin purses!

I am so happy to be crocheting again :)

Update On Things...

WOW!
I can't believe its been almost a year since my last post.  So much has happened in the past year that I hardly have time to crochet, let alone blog about it lol

I have managed to squeeze in a few projects here an there...I kinda went a little hat/beanie crazy for about a week or so and I just made one more a few days ago.  They are my go-to project.  I enjoy something fast and that I can get done within a few hours.  I just wish I could perfect it so they come out the right size every time!
I really wish I could find a mentor around my area to help my master the things I want.  I have a pretty good grasp, and I can read patters, but I MUST be doing something wrong, oh well lol

I am in the process of trying to use up all my yarn that I have stored away.  I would really love to buy more, but I have no room for it and seriously, whats the point in buying more if I never use it?
So, I am determined to get a lot of things finished before I buy more yarn.  And I am dying to try I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby.  They have so many colors to chose from which is so much more that the Impeccable Solids from Michaels that I have been using.

Pinterest has been my go to for finding patters and ideas for new stuff to create.  I have some pretty neat things on there.  Here is a link to my crochet bored of awesomeness!
If you know of or have any interesting boards from pinterest let me know in the comments, I would love to find lots of new projects to add!

Hopefully I can start adding more to my finished projects page soon :)

Crochet Stuffed Owl Toy

My daughter is turning one this weekend and her party theme is owls, so I decided to make her an owl stuffed animal.  It didn't turn out exactly like I was hoping it would.  But I still think she is cute.  I am going to make a purple one, using a bigger hook.  I am also going to try to stuff the next one a little more.

I used Vanna's Choice yarn in Raspberry for the body and Terracotta for the beak.  The eyes are Loops and Threads in white and black. The bow is from the same designer and I used Turquoise from Loops and Threads as well.  I decided to not use a button for the eyes as the pattern calls for, which was a good idea because that was the first thing my daughter touched when I gave her the toy lol

You can find the

New hooks for my birthday!!

So, my birthday was on Tuesday (4-29) and I got some new hooks that I have been dying to get. I found them on Amazon for about 12 dollars.  It is a set of Tunisian hook! Yay!

Now to just figure out what I want to make with them...

Yarn Haul!!

So, I have come to the realization that I have a serious yarn problem!  My bedroom floor is now covered in yarn, as well as my closet and a duffle bag.  At least they all were on sale when I bought them.

Michaels was having a door buster sale last week and had their Loops and Threads Impeccable on sale for $1.88 a skin! And today they had them 2 for $6 as well as Red Heart Soft.  So I treated myself.  I also got some Lily's Sugar and Cream yarn at Jo-Ann Fabric for $2.36 a skin ( it was the super size ), normally $2.99 plus I got 20% off the entire purchase...SCORE!

Now that I have all this yarn, I MUST get to work on my projects.  I am going to start the baby blanket today ( I have to start over, the one I started got lost in my move into my new house ) Hopefully it goes by fast.  And while I am working on that I need to whip up two owl's for my daughter's first birthday party.  And I need both projects done at the same time! Look's like I am going to be busy :)

WIP Wednesday!

I started working on yet another baby blanket. It is the third time now that I have to start a competly new blanket.  I didn't like the first one and lost the second one in my move.  So, here is the start of a baby chevron blanket in pink and white.  Using Bernat Softee Baby yarn in DK Sport.  Hopefully this will come along pretty fast as the baby is due on May 17th and I would like to have it done BEFORE the baby is here lol.
